In very basic terms a capitalization (cap) table tracks who owns what in a company. Investors care about cap tables, and so should you. For one thing, every time your business undergoes an investment round, it changes the percentage of your ownership. This so-called dilution isn't as bad as it sounds, as long as your company experiences steady growth and offers your funders sufficient return on their money. In this Forum, an angel, a VC and an entrepreneur will illustrate the effect multiple rounds of investments has on stakeholders and how you can maximize your equity position as your business grows.
